Recruitment Policy
Applications & Discord Community
NxSC.org does not accept membership applications directly on-site. The official Roberts Space Industries organization roster is the authoritative membership record, and all applications must be submitted through the NxSC organization page on RSI. You can also join our official Discord server to connect with personnel.
Eligibility
Open to anyone with a clean record who exhibits a healthy mentality, a good attitude, and a willingness to live up to the Spectre mission and values.
Age Requirement
Strict 18+ requirement due to the mature nature of discussions and gameplay. Limited exceptions apply to legacy members.
Microphone Requirement
Microphones are not strictly mandatory, but audible communication is required. Members without mics must join the active voice channels to listen to calls/orders and utilize text chat to convey insights.
Multi-Org Membership
Allowed, but members who treat NxSC as an affiliate rather than their primary organization will have capped access within the org. Only primary members may use the `NxS |` prefix.
Immediate Rejection
Impatience, disruptive behavior, an inability or refusal to adhere to communication policies, and general toxic alignment during the entry phase.
Removal Circumstances
Unwarranted aggression, hostility toward another member or citizen, violation of the Rules of Engagement, or participating in piracy/griefing.
Rules of Engagement (ROE)
- Initiating PvP: Permitted for absolute self-defense, defending a fellow org mate or civilian, pursuing active player bounties, and clearing hot battlegrounds. Shooting down passive cargo transport at random is forbidden.
- Due Cause: Known uninstanced hot zones carry an assumption of PvP consent. Unknown entities displaying erratic tracking or insubordination will be neutralized for operational security.
- Retaliation: Justified proportionally in response to immediate griefing or hostile engagement. Excessive force is prohibited.
- De-escalation: Preferred when outnumbered or dealing with petty verbal trolling. Mistaken engagements should be de-escalated immediately via Global Chat or local VoIP.
- Warning Shots: Encouraged in ambiguous encounters outside armistice zones. Any hostile reaction following a warning shot grants immediate clearance for termination.
Leadership Expectations
Officer Qualities: Maturity, respect, integrity, decisiveness, patience, technical expertise in game systems, and strong organizational skills.
Subordinate Autonomy: Subordinate staff are given the "What" and the "Why" by senior command, granting them full autonomy to determine and execute the tactical "How".
Teaching vs. Mission Success: Daily events are geared toward practice and teaching. Weekly Operations prioritize strict mission success, meaning comprehensive instruction is deferred to post-mission debriefings.
Operational Procedures & Standards
Attendance Expectations
Entirely optional, but members joining an active Operation Voice Channel must review the briefing document beforehand and be parked at the designated muster point prior to start time.
Training Philosophy
Rather than implementing tedious, mandatory certification walls, NxSC utilizes an immersive "learn as you play" model via active training missions led by experienced veterans.
Discord Discipline
Mutual respect is mandatory. "Hot Mic"-ing or over-talking callouts during operations (known colloquially as "Wintering") is forbidden. Casual, uninhibited banter is restricted to designated off-duty channels.
Public Representation
Members must recognize that the organization is fully visible on their public RSI citizen dossiers; public actions must reflect NxSC's core values.
